Hemp oil is extracted from the hemp seed, technically it's a "achene" (think of a strawberry seed). Hemp seeds contain the healthy oils commonly found in fish "Essential Fatty Acids" or EFAs. EFAs are very rare in the plant kingdom which is what makes hemp seed oil so special.

Add the highly nutritious protein & vitamins contained within the hemp seed and you have a 'not so modern' superfood. This is not new to a plant that has many names such as the Royal Grain (an excellent film about hemp food, it's nutrition and ancient history)
